The competition for a diploma thesis with the highest commercialization or implementation potential




For the third time since 2016, AOMB Polska in cooperation with the University of Warsaw, UWRC and AIPEX European Connected, has an honor and a great pleasure to co-organize a competition for a diploma thesis with the highest commercialization or implementation potential. The competition enjoys considerable interest and is conducted in three categories – bachelor, master and a PhD.

The Competition Commission, during the assessment of the submitted works, mainly takes into account:
Relevance of the addressed issue and the economic benefits resulting from it:
- How much the solution described in the thesis changes the current state of art and knowledge?
- Does the result of the thesis improve the existing efficiency of solutions or propose a new solution that has not been applied so far?
- What will be the economic and / or social benefits of future implementation?
The level of advancement of the solution described in the thesis and the possibility of applying the results in practice:
 - What are the currently available solutions to the described problem?
- Is it necessary to carry out many tests and analyzes for implementation, or whether the results of thesis are ready to be applied in practice?
- Already obtained patents / already filled patent applications / planned patent applications.

In the latest edition of the competition, the founder of the main prize was AOMB. The recognitions were founded by - Vice-rector for development and financial policy of the University of Warsaw, prof. dr hab. Anna Giza - Poleszczuk, and the special prize – by UWRC Sp. z o.o.

Laureates:

- PhD thesis
Main prize (5 000 PLN) - Olga Bemowska – Kałabun - „Fenotypowe i genetyczne badania zmian mikro ewolucyjnych w populacjach Geranium robertianum (Geraniaceae)”.
Recognition (2 000 PLN) - Magdalena Łuniewska -  „Rozmiar i organizacja słownika umysłowego u dzieci o typowym rozwoju językowym i u dzieci z grupy ryzyka specyficznego zaburzenia językowego SLI”.

- Master’s thesis
Main prize (4 000 PLN) - Maciej Krajewski - „Production and characterization of transparent rGO and ZnO:Al electrodes for photovoltaics applications”.
Recognition (1 500 PLN)
Marcelina Bednarczyk -„Radiotoksyczność biokoniugatu znakowanego radionuklidem 223Ra względem glejakowych komórek nowotworowych oraz macierzystych komórek glejakowych”.
Piotr Krystosiak -„Nanocząstki srebra opłaszczone polistyrenem i ich zastosowanie w otrzymywaniu nanokompozytów wykazujących właściwości bakteriobójcze”.

- Engineering /bachelor thesis:
Main prize (3 000 PLN) - Antoni Tkaczyk - „Konstrukcja prostych urządzeń do domowego wykrywania białka w moczu”.
Recognition (1 000 PLN) - Antoni Belina– Brzozowski - „Analiza systemu do laserowej spektroskopii wieloprzejściowej: modelowanie i eksperyment”.

Special prize, i.e. one year of free pre-incubation at UWRC sp. o.o. - Maciej Giers (Institute of Applied Linguistics), for thesis entitled „Zastosowanie “prostego języka” w tekstach informacyjnych w Internecie. Propozycja wersji strony internetowej Sejmu RP w “prostym języku”.

The ceremony of awarding the prizes to the winners was held on December 11, 2018 at Aula 00.142 building of the Center of New Technologies at the University of Warsaw at ul. S. Banacha 2C.
